Presentation
° Our approach to this brief was to create an interactive website that shows the consequences of our everyday actions, in an informative and engaging manner.
° Our website will aim to enlighten people of the bad lifestyle choices we make in a typical day.
° The interactivity will allow viewers to make their own choice of what their day will entail. They will be rewarded for good choices, and suitably informed if they make a bad lifestyle choice with either an uncomfortable quote or a shocking image of fact.
° This website has been inspired by games like The Simms where you control all characters within a household.
° We started by designing characters and layouts, and came up with some diverse ideas.
° Our target audience is 13-24 year olds and we felt that cartoon based imagery would promote the idea that the website is aimed at children. Therefore we have decided to use photographs in our flash animations to give it a more adult feel.
° The focus of our website is a student in his early twenties, namely 'Derick'.
° His day starts at 8am when his alarm clock goes off. Does he get up or does he hit snooze? YOU DECIDE
° What does he eat for breakfast ? Toast, cereal or a fry up? YOU DECIDE
° On the way to uni , does he stop for a quick pint at the pub? or does a quick pint turn into 5? again you decide!
° Other decision for derick include; what to eat for dinner, whether to stay home on his playstion or go to the gym.
° All decision will have a short animation showing Derick carry out whatever task you set him.
° After the format of the website was finalised wwe started making storyboards of the different scenes.
° An advantage of this interactive website is that every visit you make can have different results so it will never be boring or dull.
° you can learn from your mistakes

Rationale
As a group we decided to take the 'A Typical Day in Your Life' brief to a full pitch. We decided to carry on with this brief because it was one that everyone could be involved in. There were areas of this brief that suited multimedia, graphic design, and illustration students. It also meant that we could all try our hand at something new.
We started this project by looking through our earlier ideas from the brainstorming session and picking out which one we thought was most successful. We decided on creating a website that would act as an interactive game where the viewer will be able to control a character and make his choices throughout the day. The point of this website is to give the viewer the chance to make decisions and then see the consequences of them.
If they make a good choice, the character will be rewarded with good health, high energy, and money. However if they make a bad choice the reverse will happen.
Our aim for this website is to highlight bad lifestyle choices that people make and then show them that simple decisions that they make throughout the day always have consequences.
Our initial idea was to create a website that was based around illustrations, however after looking at previous websites created like this, the group felt that it may seem like it is aimed at a younger audience. We then decided that we would take a more photographical approach, as this would aim at a wider audience and appear more realistic. To keep the viewer engaged we will also include animation as well as interactivity in our website.

Development
We decided that an illustrated format of website may appear to be aimed at a younger audience. Therefore we decided to use photography instead.
On monday we went out as a group and took photos of relevant scenes that we will need to make up the website.
Sections of these photographs will be extracted and put into a website where they will be animated.
Examples of the photographs are below.

A Day In Your Life ~ Ideas
As a group we decided to take the 'A Typical Day in Your Life' brief to a full pitch.
We tackled this project by all sitting down and deciding which idea was best from our earlier brainstorming session. We decided to create an interactive website that allows the user to make decisions for a character, however each decision made affects the characters day.
We started by all generating ideas for layout and character design for the website. We also looked researched the effects of bad lifestyle choices that might affect you day e.g. lack of exercise, bad diet etc etc.
Below our some of our first ideas:

first things first
We have been give 6 briefs, all with different elements in. we will briefly describe each brief and the ideas which our group came up with. The brief with the strongest ideas is what we will carry on with.
NSPCC - to try to get the male population to realise that they are a role model to younger kids, and how their money can help. We were thinking of using pubs and footie matches. Our idea was to create a line of beer mats, ash trays and maybe even a line of beer. The idea, to create a advertising campaigne, one idea being if the male was to buy abottle of beer then 50p from that sale would go towards the charity. This was seen as being unethical, as alcohol fuels child abuse, but stopping them from beating is another issue, at least this way the charity would get money from it to help the childern.
FILM FESTIVAL - the brief was too create 3 posters which advertised a film festival. We was going to use simple sans serif font and set the posters out like the famous posters that all film fanatics would recongnise. It was hard coming up with ideas with just typeography, as most film posters have a image - this is why this brief would be hard to follow through.
A DAY IN THE LIFE - the brief stated to create an interactive and engaging website that showed a typical day in someones life. A few of our ideas during a brainstorming session included; creating an online diary, creating an interactive game where the viewer controls a character, and a website where you can create your dream day.
ORANGE OPTIMISM - this brief wanted images created for orange around the theme of optimism. Each image also had to correspond with a word from the list provided. These are a few of the ideas we came up with:
Hero - life line, always someone to call to help you out, cant survive without orange.
Bigger Networks - talk to more people, more friends.
New Direction - starting a new life with orange.
PRODUCT LIFECYCLE - this brief wanted you to show the lifecycle of a household object, from the cradle to grave.
Our idea was to create a leaflet showing how the object is made, how it is used, and what happens to it when it is no longer usable. This leaflet was going to be aimed at consumers to show them exactly where it came from, not just how to use it. It is also meant to how if the product would be eco friendly.
ANIMATION - This brief wanted to us to create an animation about climate cooling. Our ideas for the phrase 'feel the power of off' were to show a city going into a blackout.
